1. Who We Are

This policy explains how A&B Drainage Solutions Ltd ("we", "us", "our") handles personal information sent to us through this website, www.abdrainage.co.uk. We provide drainage, CCTV survey and related services across Hampshire and surrounding counties.

We are the data controller for that information. You can contact us about it at any time:

A&B Drainage Solutions Ltd
Hampshire, United Kingdom
Email: [email protected]
Telephone: 01256 688 650

We handle personal information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What We Collect

We only collect what you choose to send us, plus the basic technical data any website receives:

  • Enquiry and booking forms: your name, telephone number, email address (optional on some forms), postcode, the service you need and anything you write in the message. The emergency form asks only for your name, telephone number and a short description of the problem.
  • Emails and calls: if you email or phone us, we keep the correspondence and any notes needed to deal with your enquiry.
  • Technical data: like every website, the servers that deliver these pages receive your IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
  • Payment information: where applicable; we do not store full card details. Payments are processed by third-party providers.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

3. How We Use It and Our Legal Basis

  • Replying to your enquiry and preparing a quote: steps you have asked us to take before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
  • Carrying out work you book: performance of a contract.
  • Invoicing, tax and record keeping: legal obligation.
  • Keeping the website running and secure: legitimate interest.
  • Understanding how the website is used (Google Analytics): your consent, given in the cookie banner.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for marketing unless you ask us to.

4. Who Processes It for Us

We use a small number of service providers to run this website. They act on our instructions:

  • Our web developer's form service (run by Obsessive Software): when you submit a form, its contents go to this service, which emails them to our inbox using Resend(resend.com) and does not keep a copy. To block spam, the forms use Cloudflare Turnstile(cloudflare.com), which checks your browser is genuine and processes technical data such as your IP address. Nothing is sent until you press the submit button.
  • DigitalOcean (digitalocean.com): hosts this website, so its servers receive the technical data described in section 2.
  • Google Fonts (Google privacy policy): the typefaces on this website are loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address when your browser requests them.
  • Google Analytics: only loaded if you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner. If you choose "Necessary only", it is not loaded. When it runs, IP anonymisation is switched on, and clicks on our telephone numbers are counted so we can see how many calls the website generates.
  • Our email provider: enquiries arrive in, and are kept in, our business email account.
  • Accountants, professional advisers and authorities: only where needed for invoicing, tax or legal reasons, or where the law requires it.

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or the standard contractual clauses in the provider's terms.

5. How Long We Keep It

  • Enquiry records: 2 years from last contact, unless a service was carried out.
  • Customer and job records: 6 years (to comply with HMRC requirements and to handle any warranty or dispute matters).
  • Website analytics: aggregated and anonymised; not retained as personal data.

6. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Rectification: have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected.
  • Erasure: ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law.
  • Restriction: ask us to limit how we use it.
  • Portability: receive information you gave us in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it, for example for analytics.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected] or call 01256 688 650. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact us before going to the ICO.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

Your choice in the cookie banner is saved in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again. That is strictly necessary and cannot be switched off.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are only set if you accept them. The banner also lists a marketing option; this website does not currently set any marketing or advertising cookies, whatever you choose.

To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the banner will appear again on your next visit.

8. Security

This website is served over HTTPS and form submissions are sent over an encrypted connection. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.

9. Links to Other Websites

This website links to other websites, including our sister companies and social media pages. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

10. Changes to This Policy

We will update this page if the way we handle personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
